I know people have said elsewhere about the refreshing honesty of yogi, but I just think this interview - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/8261755.stm is brilliant from him.
No excuses. No "I thought we played well and were unlucky". Admits he got it wrong, but talks about the attitudes pre-match.
I reckon we're on for a win on Saturday. (just no 4-3-3 please yogi  )

The guy is a total legend, a mean just how good was that interview, night and day compared to what Mixu's interviews were serving up last season!
The guy knows his football, thats for sure, and every single interview ive seen of his so far, has left me with a smile and a confidence at the end of it. Long may it continue.
John Hughes IS the THE MAN!:agree::thumbsup:

I guess it's a step up from Mixu's "The boys did well".

Legend or not though, the jury has to stay out until results give them reason to come back in.

He's very honest in what he says right enough, although i do disagree with him saying he had too many flair players on Sunday. Riordan and Stoles apart, the rest are just grafters, i don't think he had enough flair players on the park.

Good interview - had me sitting and listenting for the whole 8 mins.

It come across though that Hughes himself still has a bit to learn, but I think that is fine as its a long term game we are playing here. His honesty is something we are not used to from a number of ex-managers.

Just as long as the Hibs team comes out like a wounded bear on Saturday. Right Yogi?:greengrin

He seems to speak of the team with a strange detachment, if you ignore all the sentimental twaddle. Does he accept responsibility for their performance?
He seems to cast himself as a hapless bystander, hostage to the mood of the players and whether they are up for it or not. He better drop these imposters quickly if that is the case.

If how teams performed in the league table had any relation to how their respective manager came across in press conferences, we would win the league by 30 points.

I really like listening to Hughes and it was great to hear him say it like it is after Sunday's result/performance. It is clear that he can talk a very good game, I just hope that he can transfer all that onto the pitch because if he can, then I think we are in for some exciting times.

Here's hoping.

great vids
great interview
great guy
i couldnt ask for anyone better to be manager of our club

but......
he seems to be back tracking a bit on his earlier comments regarding last weeks no show. If he dosent make sweeping changes his hard line approach will be some what diluted. Throwing a grenade in means hee haw if it dosnae go off?
lets hope the good vibe that was around before sunday returns, and things progress for a while.
by ****** us Hibbys deserve a wee run
