Sad news.
Seen a picture of him in the paper at the weekend and he didn't look well at all.
That's sad.
Horrible, Horrible disease, if I had one wish it would be to have a cure for it.
Gutted when I heard the news this morning although I think he has suffered a lot over the last couple of years. One of my favourite actors, I would love to have seen him when he was in the West End.

A real shame. Was a decent actor and appeared to be a nice guy.

Was sorry to hear this news when I got up this morning.
My mum is a massive, massive fan and Saturday wasn't Saturday if she hadn't watched Dirty Dancing!!

This will doubtless get my slated from all angles (ooo err) but Dirty Dancing is a class movie with one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever (taken in its very 1980's context)
Always a shame to hear of a decent person losing their battle with this terrible disease.

Sad news indeed, loved him in Ghost and Road House.
if I had one wish it would be to have a cure for it.
I doubt they ever find a cure. We know what cause cancer, smoking cause cancer and so does diet. In January 1892, Scientific American stated "cancer is most frequent among those branches of the human race where carnivorous habits prevail".
Cancer is not new and even if a tumour is present does not mean you have months to live, in fact it takes up to 10yrs for the tumour to appear.
Going down the chemotherapy route destroys the immune system, the only thing that can destroy cancer in the body
Each of us have cancer cells in our body everyday and we know nothing about it, we only know when a tumour appears and that is usually a sign of something going wrong in the body
You can watch this documentry if you have Veoh player installed, it is over 2hrs long. http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/lifestyle/watch/v18237459qXKCHQK5

So does eating too much fruit, or eating too little fruit. Using a mobile phone and about 100 million other things that totally contradict each other. I hope so much a that a cure is found and i'll keep raising and giving to cancer research, but I don't think we ever will unfortunately.

So does eating too much fruit Note that i know of, certianly people will say that cancer thrives on sugar, but all foods you eat can be turned into blood glucose(including protein/fat)to feed to blood cells, otherwise they will die.
Not heard about any scientific studies linking fruits to cancer, in fact cancer research and others will always say to increase your fruit intake.
or eating too little fruit Could not agree more.
Using a mobile phone It could be linked to brain cancer, doctors used to recommend smoking, so i will keep an open mind on mobile phones.
They have had billions of pounds spent on them with poor results to show. The drugs they created suppress the immune system, effectively killing the white bloods cells, we need to strengthen the immune system, not suppress it.
People should know the difference between relative and absolute benefit. http://jco.ascopubs.org/cgi/content/full/21/23/4263

Anyway, condolences to his family and fans (even if Ghost was pretty tough on my poor eyes).

You seemed pretty happy to make asinine jokes about Michael Jackson in his RIP thread. Now someone that you like has died and you've turned all sanctimonious...
If you don't like it then don't dish it out in the first place.

You 2 are having a pop at me about MJ jokes when he died. Let's have a little look at what Mr Filled Rolls had to say about the matter:
People are entitled to their opinion, and no-one says they should like Michael Jackson (wasn't mad on him myself). Some respect for life would have been nice to see, there are people who are reading this thread who have had to deal with loss, and I'm sure some of the smart alec remarks on here would hardly make them feel better.
I don't think many people are genuinely happy when another human dies. They might be indifferent, but nasty jokes show up a flaw in the person who makes them IMO,
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
I never really liked his music, I am not very sad about his death, but I don't think people show themselves in a good light when they start making sick jokes minutes after the bloke passed. I very much doubt anyone would walk into his funeral and make these jokes (actually I don't doubt it at all, but most people would say it is wrong).
All I need to say now is: :kettle:

Maybe FR is a hypocrite although I don't think his joke could be described as 'sick' to be honest.
