Never seen the program but I went to get checked recently and it really plays on your mind all the waiting around.

I had a small lump and I went to the doctors 3 times before the referred me. They gave me antibiotics the first two times :bitchy:

I then went for a scan and there was some cowboy who looked like he had never even seen a pair of nads before and seemed more nervous than me. :bitchy:

I wasn't happy so went back to the docs and they referred me to another specialist at the Western general who said that the lump was in a serious area and I needed to get it checked asap.

A referral was sent to the radiology (IIRC) department who said an appointment would be through in a month. I went on holiday and an appointment had came through urgently whilst I was away (appointment was about 5 days after the scan).

I spent over 3 months trying to re-arrange an appointment. I was ****ing raging because the women I spoke to was so incompetent I don't know how she managed to tie her laces. She said I had to wait until the doctor came back from his holiday (which now turns out is a load of *****), I said what if he died or couldn't come back to for whatever reason. Were there no other doctors to re-refer. She said no. :faf: Then she kept telling me that she was too busy and had done all she could, she told me this week after week for 9 weeks following the doctors return.

Anyway, after I said I was raising a complaint I eventually spoke to some people who knew what they were doing and they re-arranged another appointment within days.

I got a letter through yesterday saying my nads are fine :greengrin

Still don't know what the lump is :boo hoo: Need to go back to the clinic :boo hoo:

Normally the process would be fine and won't take much of your time. Just go along and get it done.

Whatever you do though, don't miss an appointment in any circumstance as you may end up with the woman that I had (there's a 50/50 chance because there were only two of them)!

I had a small lump about 19 years agao and panicked, thankfully it was only a fatty cist, removed easily through surgery. I now check regularly, it takes seconds and gives you peace of mind.

Sounds like a nightmare mate!! I'm a hypochondriac at the best of times so f@nnying about for 3 months would've had me going off my heid!!!

And sending you a letter? They might've phoned!

I went to the Docs yesterday as I found a lump. I was in the waiting area all worried, when my name was shouted out, I looked up and was the doctor not the youngest and prettiest girl (must be new) I thought S*it, I'm going to have the pleasure of getting my Hee Haws out for her to have a prod about.

I don't know who was more nervous, me or her?

Anyway, she loooked and felt & felt, After a couple of minutes she came out with a cracker which made me laugh, she said, "They're sliperry things them arent they?" Made me feel a bit more relaxed.:greengrin

Anyway, I've to go back on Wednesday for a second opinion (A MALE DOCTOR who specializes in the nether region) Think I would rather have her touching them though:wink:

But, the point is, If you feel anything in your Hee Haws, go to the Docs ASAP - you are only embarrassed for a few mins!

Hopefully I will be told good news in the next few days.

It is a weird experience. If you've been to the GUM clinic before it's a piece of piss (the Bozvelt part).

I was at the clinic a couple of months back, I was having a laugh with the nurse, as she was doing her thing I said to her 'I bet you never thought you'd be doin this when you grew up', she laughed and said 'i bet you never thought you'd be having this done when you grew up'.

I was pissing maself, well, not literally or she'd have got a wet face.

My Mum n Dad stay in the village over from the top bowling club.

I went to Gracemount High for my sins, not far from you. My youngest son is in 5th year at the school, it looks a bit better now than when I went.

My mate stays up in Ravenscroft.

Yeah, the school is nicer now. It was finished the year after I left, the same thing happened with the new block built on the primary school. :grr:

Don't think I'll know your son as I'm 23 but if he's one of the ones who kicks around the shops at the bridge I might.
