Hi
was wondering if people can advise on the easiest, cheapest and quickest way to get from Charles de Gaulle airport into the centre of Paris. I have heard the train is best but any advice would be appreciated and so would any useful web links to where I can book advance tickets.
Thanks

There is a cheap regular bus service that takes you right into the heart of the city.

When i was there a year and a half ago we took the train, it was cheap and easy got on at the airport and only needed to make once change onto the metro and we were pretty much at our hotel.
If your going to be there for a week or more get a weekly pass for the metro, its not pricey and you get unlimited use of it. Its the fastest most reliable public transport system ive ever seen.

Take the RER. It's the fast train and connects CDG with ORY via the city centre.

My father in law took my daughters to Paris at the start of the year and had booked transfers thru Parisshuttle.com.....DO NOT BOOK THEM !!!! He paid in advance and they never turned up. Tried to track them down for a refund but got the runaround thru different telephone booking lines.:bitchy:

We arrive at terminal 2 and we are going to the Lenox Montparnasse Hotel on Rue Delambre which I think is near Vavin metro station. Having now looked it seems as if I can get a RER train Line B to central Paris and change to ligne 4 to Vavin. Is that a decent way to go about it? Does anyone have any idea of the cost for the RER train and the cost of the metro?
Weekly pass sounds like a good idea. Does that pass include trips on the RER train or is it just for the metro?
Thanks in advance

As Lyon mentioned the tickets for the RER cost around Euro 9. You need one tube ticket per journey and they cost about Euro 1.10 I think. If you buy a book of 10 then you save a little and don't have to worry about buying tickets for every journey.
Have fun
I went to Paris this year and I got the train it was very easy.
Enjoy its a very good place. :agree:
