Paul Madeley was an invaluable player for the successful Leeds team of the early 70's. Whenever a player was injured or suspended he would slot into their position comfortably thus allowing the team formation to remain more or less intact week in week out.
While Ian Murray does not have the same class as Madeley, he is a competent utility player and, despite the fact that this seems to be regarded as a curse, players of such ilk are worth their weight in gold.
As Yogi said now that IM's suspension is over, "It's like having six players back."
Hear! hear!
