Shaping up to be the most famous goalie in Scotland who never wore a pair of gloves in first team football. (The Morton decable aside.)

Four year ban - that would soon stop drink driving if everyone received the same punishment!!

30k a year he was on as well - we're well rid of him.

Why should I get a four year ban because Grof was drink driving?

Anyway, David Grof is mercifully no longer a Hibs player.

He didn't even play for the 1st team (Morton fiasco aside) in his chequered time here, ergo my interest in his fortunes wanes proportionally now he's left the club.

Let's leave him to get over his misdemeanours and hopefully sort out his pro career.

Well if you are driving under the influence of drink you would deserve everything you get.

He's away now.....but people judging him as a goalkeeper on the ONE game against Morton is a bit unfair.

If he could of screwed the nut 18 months ago I think he would still be at Hibs IMO

I gave Grof it tight on here for drink driving and rightly so IMO.

However, I never realised he was sleeping in the car with the engine on. I know it's extremely stupid but I must confess I've sat in the car pished when locked out the house, put the engine on for 5 minutes to heat it up and switch it off again. Admittedly, I would never leave it on for the purpose of you moving around, hitting the accelerator/handbreak etc.

You dont even have to have the engine on to be charged with DD. You only have to be in the car with the keys in the car with you.

I know but it was either that or sleep outside the car potentially catching hypothermia.

:agree:

After a night out on George Street my mate fell asleep in his car and the keys were on the passenger seat next to him. Police saw him and woke him up to tell him they were arresting him on suspicion of drink driving...Harsh way to learn the law....

I wasn't having a go, i've done it myself (sleep in the car that is after a night out), and was made aware of the "offence" by a policeman.

Open the car, then hide the keys somewhere away from the vehicle, then get back in the car and wrap up well:wink:

See previous post.

This does not have to be on a street by the way, you could be parked on your driveway.

Being understudy to the comedy double act that was Malkowski and Brown is enough to drive anyone to drink. :greengrin

I never meant to come across like you were. Apologies if I did.

You could have left the car door open by accident. Unlikely yes, provable that you didn't without the keys being found. Even more unlikely.

Another sleeping in car story for you all....

When we went to Newcastle about 2 years ago, 8 of us were thrown out of the hotel for being involved in a minor dispute with some other guests at the hotel bar. :greengrin

Before this we had parked in the underground car park of a hotel that was not ours in error. However, it was only a 5 minute walk and we'd already took the cases out and went to the reception before realising our error.

After being thrown out we made our way to the hotel aka car park. Spent the night in there drinking the lager we had in the cars on the way down and then all went to sleep. We were generally having a laugh, ****ing around etc and then slept in the cars.

The security came down about 12 noon that day and said we'd have to leave as we couldn't sleep in the cars but we had given them one of the funniest nights of their lives.
