Rape suspects should never be made known. It can wreck people's lives if they're innocent.
However, if they are made innocent I do believe that there should be a record kept and it should have relevance in any other alleged attacks when it gets to court.
IIRC the CP cannot take into consideration of previous alleged attacks but if it happens to someone 2/3/4 times then it may be the justice system that is failing.

I agree with Woody, rape suspects should be kept anonymous until found guilty.

I agree with Woody, rape suspects should be kept anonymous until found guilty.
Been saying that for years. Indeed, I would argue that all cases of an "emotive" nature (all sex crimes, murder) should be treated the same way. Not just for the sake of the accused, but also the accuser.

Why?

Why?
Because I think he is, you know like it is my opinion. Also the fact that he has been put back in jail for breaking his parole rule kinda cements that, no?
So whats your take on the guy?

I'll not comment on the rape charge save to say that I agree regarding the point about the accused having anonymity. I've little respect for Jack Tweed generally though. He doesn't exactly cover himself in glory at times, as in the below.

I sort of agree with Scott that he does appear to be a bit of a fan dan.
Of course, I'm basing that on what has been reported in the papers about him previously, not what I know of him personally.

I don't know him, so I have no opinion.
Also, isn't he in jail on the rape charge, and not for breaking his parole?

I'm not sure about this idea about names being kept secret.
Rape is one of the hardest crimes to prove in court and statistically one of the least reported crimes. It also has one of the lowest conviction rates in relation to actual court cases.
In my opinion if a victim reports a crime of rape I tend to believe them. Why would they put themselves through such a process? An internal examination by strangers, a thorough "interview" by the police and then a court case where all the gory details are there for all to hear.
For every one nutter that makes a false claim I bet there are thousands that are genuine given the procedures that one has to go through.
Rape should be treated differently from other crimes. If that means naming the suspect then so be it.
It's the public perception of people who have been found innocent that has to change.

IMO, he has been remanded in custody until the trial, which means he can harm nobody,
I don't think he should be named at this stage. We don't know if he is guilty or not of these crimes. If he is guilty then fair enough he will be given the sentence he deserves, but if not, then mud sticks.

How can he be in jail for something he is not been tried for....... going back to exactly why I think he is a fan dan......

You may change your opinion if you are ever falsely accused of a sexual assault.

Many people are on remand for things they haven't been found guilty of. That's the way the system works.
As for your second comment, no need. I have no opinion on someone who I have never met, and who is of very little importance to me. Hardly weird.

sadly to culture of the celebrity in this country is out of control. In the last three years we have seen:
Robin van Persie - accused of rape - name across the papers - cleared
Ronaldo - accused of rape - name across the papers - cleared
Johnny Evans - accused of rape - name across the papers p- cleared
I'm not suggesting Jack Tweed is innocent but i don't think having his name being known helps build a case.
I know of one of the females who accused one of the guys above who was CLEARED, she was at a party, someone famous paid her attention, the slept together....BOOM her boyfriend found out.....RAPE.
Her name was never known......:grr:, cases like this, & some twisted females whose actions are unforgivable mean that women who have been subjected to these awful crimes are put under even more scrutinity.

It is such an emotive crime, and one where mud sticks, whether or not there is any guilt. And I mean that for the accuser as well. Those situations where rape is not proven (and it can be difficult to prove) often end up with the accuser's name being tarnished..... sometimes unjustifiably.

Why, they are "innocent"?
Because rape charges are extremely difficult to prove and I think the success rate of convictions is around 4%. It's obviously an emotive subject and people are falsely accused.
However, I think if one person has been accused +2/3 times then the chances are it is the justice system that has failed the accuser on previous occasions.
