Yep, he was a free agent so can sign for another club outside the transfer window. :agree:

38 goals in his 3 years at Celtic.

£3.5 million fee plus probably £25K a week wages over 3 years = £7.4 million.

So about £195,000 a goal. Yikes that makes Nade look cheap. :agree:

Did he not score a couple of goals at the end of the league season Rangers were in the UEFA cup to help Celtic to the title. It's difficult to asses how much that is worth in a net value. You could say that his goals helped them to extra prize money and CL qualification.

It would be interesting to see the same stats for Samaras as he's hardly prolific. Again, he scored the winner in the 2nd CL which effectively meant they made the UEFA cup.

Samaras 21 goals in 49 appearances up to end of last season. Cost them about £1.5 million. Can't be bothered doing the sums but would say a better buy than Van Hesselink.

I would guess that they will be paying him 10k a week or so? That is more to do with the going rate over actual worth. Even if we could have had signed him on a fifth of that I still would not have him. All the skill and finesse of a wardrobe. Signed on at Sellick as a second rate "boot it up the park" John Hartson.:bitchy:
