I thought Yogi had looked in to this and was investigating ways to balance religous observance with the demands of playing football. We may still see then in the side.

I'd like us to give a few of the young guys a chance.

Would be my choice.

If possible though, I'd like to see Benji start ahead of Stokes and give Stokes the last half an hour.

Great competition for places up front right now.

It should probably be a mix of youth and experience on Wednesday night and allowing a couple of players some game time.

I'd go with (subject to fitness)

I would certainly play Ian Murray as he needs a competitive game before his suspension is up.

Apart from that I wouldn't change the team too much, too many changes and too many kids in at the same time could be disasterous.

If we were two or more up I wouldn't be against two or three laddies getting the second half.

My only problem with playing Stokes and Byrne is that I would like to see Stokes alongside Riordan, to give them experience of playing together and get used to how the other plays. Nothing wrong with bringing on Byrne with 25-30 mins to go, though.

:agree:

We're not in good enough form to make wholesale changes. And we shouldn't be throwing loads of kids in at the same time - that's asking for a slap, in my view.

Yogi will have one eye on Sunday of course, but I think we should still see a strong team out on Weds. Things are going well but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Exactly, i can believe so many people are wanting to play what's almost a reserve team after what happened last season.

I'm pretty sure that after the financial outlay we've had that Yogi knows we need a decent run in both cups if possible.

Stokes & Benji up front for me. Both could do with some gametime, and some goals to their name. Also think that benji could play the neat balls through for stokes to run onto.

Galbraith and Wotherspoon in midfield, with Thicot stevenson in midfield.

McCann, McCormack, Hanlon and Murray in defence.

I'd be surprised if the Moroccans were used in an evening match as this is possibly the most difficult time for them in Ramadan.

I'd like to see Murray and Galbraith get some needed game-time. Then if we've got the game won some more of the youngsters, or some tinkering with positions.

Get the win first please JH!

The guy was a stand out when he played alongside Murray against Hearts at the end of last season. He's still young, solid on the ground and in the air with good composure, still work in progress.

Byrne getting on for the last half hour and maybe McCormack but Hogg and Bamba may need another game together before taking on Celtic...

I would play the same team as saturday except for dvz at the back. Bring on some subbies if the game is well won, but the value of winning the third game in a row will do wonders for confidence. Balance this up by going lighter on training. Playing a competitive game is the best training you can get.:agree:

Why we planning no showing disrespect by playing an under-strengthed team ? We shouldn't automatically think we are going to win.

Makes a few changes from the winning team, but nothing drastic.

Benji upfront with Stokes would be nice with Galbraith, Stevenson and Bamba with Murray, Darren McCormack, McCann and Hogg in defence.

You think changing 8 players is "nothing drastic"
I don't think its showing disrespect, I'd just like to see a few of the youngsters given a chance. They did have a great season last year and I reckon this should be the sort of game to see what standard they are at in terms of first team football.

Most of the players I have said though are first team and have played first team in the last few months.

Stack - See what he is like
McCann - Should be permanent RB before DVZ
Hogg - Permanent player
McCormack - Deserves a chance
Muray - Will be back in the first team now his suspension is over surely
Galbraith - See what he's got
Wotherspoon - Already scored and looks promising
Stevenson - Chance to get confidence up and played in the right position
Benji - Will score goals
Stokes - Wil score goals.

Think the team is fully justified. I mean drastic as to putting a newly promoted under 19's team out. Play a few 'bench' players, give them the chance to prove their worth in the first team. I would rather we didn't risk our cup position to test young players. Bring them in one by one, but not all at once.

I wasn't arguing with your team. It's actually pretty decent. The youngsters I'd like to see start are Wotherspoon, Galbraith, Byrne and Booth. I think all of them, barring Booth, showed in pre-season that they should be given a chance to develop. Also, with us having a pretty long pre-season and an important game on Sunday, I don't think it will be a bad idea to drop a few first team players. I'd much rather seen the young confident guys given a chance to show what they can do against what is a 2nd division team. Keep that conveyor belt rolling :greengrin.

Mibbes Aye

I would be happy to go with a second-string side, albeit with a strong bench.

While we shouldn't underestimate anybody, neither should we be unnecessarily fielding our best players a few days before playing Celtc.

Brechin are what they are. So far that's a Div 2 team who haven't got off to as nearly a good start as East Fife, and what was essentially last season's U19 side were good enough to beat them a couple of weeks ago.

Looks like Yogi will be fielding his strongest side tonight according to the Scotsman.

HIBS boss John Hughes has insisted he'll be taking no chances against Second Division Brechin City in tonight's Co-operative Insurance Cup clash at Easter Road, declaring: "I'll put out my strongest side."
