Whats with all the bookings for hard but fair tackles in the SPL this season:confused: having watched the 2 tv matches and attended ER, last weekend and watching todays game the referee's seem to be booking players for just about anything, it's meant to be a MANS game FFS :grr:

The ref was very card happy and gave Hibs sod all, slight contact and foul goes aginst us, when a Falkirk players has contact, nowt. No consistency again, couldn't wait to book a Hibs player, obviuosly doesn't have good memories of Edinburgh as he was card happy against the Hertz.

Not to mention the pressure from the crowd who howled for anything...Cheating ****bags who obviously take inspiration from McNamara! :grr::grr:

Hair pulling in a football match. And they say the Hibees are gay.

The problem isn't yellow or red cards for bad fouls, which do need to be reduced in Scottish football. I think the problem is the excessive amount of yellow cards for ridiculous "offences", like kicking the ball away, goal celebrating, talking to the referee and so on. When referees give yellow cards for things like these they put themselves under pressure for the rest of the game.

Those offences should only be yellow cards in the most blatant of circumstances. eg kicking the ball away should only be a yellow card if it is clearly a case of a team that is hanging on to a result, and a player kicks the ball miles away to disrupt the flow of the game. Scobbie shouldn't have been booked today and Nish shouldn't have been booked last week.

The referee was a joke today. It was not a dirty game and there is no way that we deserved to get six players booked.

I really thought that there was no way we would finish that game with 11 players so they deserve credit for that.

Interesting that there are no bookings in the Celtic game after 80 mins, with 18 fouls committed. Yet our game had 9 booked after 29 fouls.:grr:

Dons/Hamilton game 5 booked after 24 fouls
Saints/Utd game 1 booked after 23 fouls
Well/Killie game 4 booked after 20 fouls

Does not seem right - depends on whether you get a card happy ref or not:grr:

We'll see how much it's a mans game when Zoomer takes a few hefty challenges. It seems to me it's only a man's game when it is us who are dishing out the fouls. It's ironic how we get up in arms in this country about simulation, but are quite happy to see career threatening challenges dished out.

How many career threatening challenges were commited by a Hibs player today? The ref was a homer who paused then reacted to the howls of the Falkirk fans. Fair play to Bamba who managed to stay on the park despite the efforts of the Falkirk players to get him sent off.

:agree: Several occassions today when he only appeared to blow for a free kick after the crowd reaction. Never seen a ref take so long to react after the 'offence' has taken place.

Hope we don't end up that desperate in matches! Smacked of total desperation. Although given what went on with McNamara in the tunnel and May's comments post match, I guess it was to be expected. Pathetic!

Remember that Hibs were fined £20,000 this week for their poor disciplinary record last season.

So this is now a money-spinner for the SFA and some referees are clearly operating under a form of bonus scheme for the number of cards they dish out. :greengrin

Hibs might as well set up a direct debit with the SFA now to pay their annual fine.
