He is basically touting Arfield to anyone who'll pay the price, and he said their was a couple of clubs asking about him this week. Doesn't say what the price is though.

Falkirk seem to be needing the cash.

Did he just say " One day Scotty will leave the football club and play for a decent club? "

Just the sort of thing you want a new manager to say eh! :bitchy:

I heard Eddie May interviewed earlier and when speaking of Arfield he said that if he "continues playing well he will eventually get a move to a decent club"

Is he suggesting that he does not see Falkirk as a decent club?

Yep he said that, I listened to it in the car on the way home and if he is leaving to a decent club then what does he think of Falkirk :dunno:

I think that he was maybe having a wee dig at Hamilton. Interesting though. If it is a few Scottish clubs that are a wee bit tentative in the hundreds of thousands range it has to be us and Hearts. English clubs can afford him almost without negociation.

Rumour on bus home from Ibrox is that Burnley and Wolves are ready to meet Falkirks expectation this week. Id been told this will be around £1.2m plus add ons.

PS McCann is retiring but taking a coaching job at an SPL club.

In your dreams. Hamilton got a great fee for THE young talent of Scottish football. Arfield is a good player but you will be lucky to get £500k for him.

It'll depend on how long he has left on his contract (any idea?).

If we've no chance of getting him I hope he does go down south and Falkirk get a good few bob for him.

Noticed this on yesterdays BBC website.

Are we in with a chance in signing him and do we think he would be a good addition to the team.

I've been very impressed with Arfield and would be a better signing than bringing Boozy back IMO.

Good point but surely Petrie will invest some of the cash we have brought in over the close season in the team. And at say £200k would be a good investment.

600k-800k Would do it.

Or indeed 400K with good sell on.

strange quote at the end of the article.

"He is a fantastic person, he is very humble. I am sure one day Scotty will leave the football club and play for a decent club."

suggesting falkirk isnt a decent club? we all know what he means, but strange wording i would say.

If he was our player we'd be looking for £1.5m minimum.

I agree he'd be a good signing but what do you base the figures in your posts on?

Yes but we are not Falkirk who are skint and just do not negotiate fees like this. If it was us say 6 years ago then we would be happy with 750k. Remember how surprised we were that we got 1.5m for occonnor?

Maybe. There's a big gap between the £500k you think they'll get and us expecting £1.5m if he was ours.

He's a good player (and still on 20ish) with 4 years left on his contract, I'd imagine English clubs will have him on their radar (based on Fletcher, the laddies from Dundee, Hamilton all moving down there) so I think Falkirk can expect to get more than the £200K being touted elsewehere.

Too much information from Eddie May.....................showing a surprising lack of experience as a manager.

Not sure why people think we are skint, we are one of the few teams in the SPL in the black

Re Eddies comments, hes not been silly, hes actually been quite clever imho. He knows there are bigger (and decent, which was a dig at Accies ) teams after him and is simply trying to let other clubs know of the offers.

If it starts a bidding war then it can only help the transfer process.

250k - 400k should do it...

Falkirk are poorer than the Yams... :cool2:

Think the boy is a good player but do we really need to strengthen the midfield first?

Jack understands that the Hahahearts did make a bid a few weeks ago.

Put your coffee down. :agree:

Ready?
