cant remember last time we started a season with a win at home, my heart says 2-o th the hibbies but am used to being kicked in the teeth by them and will probably have to settle for a 1-1 draw.:blushie:

I reckon Hibs 4 - 1 St Mirren

Four our goals see

Riordan x 2
Nish x 1
Bamba x 1

For St Mirren, well who gives a ****

Now off to check what odds I'll get on that scoreline.

Zimmy
14-08-2009, 07:51 AM
A narrow Hibs win, a decent first half followed by a typical Hibs second.

I'm going 3-1 Deek double and a Nish trundler.

They're bound to score with Potter, Mehmet, Mair and Higdon all dangerous in the ai and us a bit vulnerable.

14-08-2009, 10:25 AM
Hope we win; would love a repeat of the last time I went to a season opener with my son. That was 4-1 back in 1991 and we went on to win the Skol Cup....

But I don't like making predictions. So I won't.

BTW - Benji's listed in the 'provisional squad' for tomorrow. Only absentees are Murray (supended) and JJ (injured).

Hibee87

3 - 0 hibs, think st mirren could be for the drop this year so should be comfortable enough, yogis first league game at e.r the boys will be desperate to put in a good performance im confident of a easy win. Id take an opening 5 minutes like when we played them 2 seaosns ago nish chip after 2 min then a zemmama rocket (goalf of the season it was voted) after 5. however id rather cut out the rest of that game 85 min back to wall with mcneail making some superb saves :greengrin

2-1 Hibs. We will score first, settle down, score a second then probably lose a silly goal at some point in the 2nd half when we get lazy and don't concentrate. I think, anyway :greengrin

I couldn't even guess at this. I think we still have some way to go before we see Yogi getting the best out of our lot. I have no idea how advanced St Mirren are but they could possibly be the fittest side in the SPL at the start of the season because their manager does tend to make up for whatever they lack in quality with a higher fitness level than a lot of teams. I am just looking for signs tomorrow that we are on the right tracks.

I was concerned about Sol at Centre Half but if what I have read about his performances against Bolton, Blackburn and the international are accurate then maybe I shouldn't be concerned. So as long as I see a good performance from him and others and that they are right for their positions then I'll be satisfied no matter what the result. Here is hoping for a win though but if it happens it couldn't be by more than one, could it?

2 - 0 St Mirren. Maka blunder. Bamba sent off. Hogg O.G. Zemamma injured. McBride booed. Benji to give the crowd the finger. Hughes sent to the stand. Chants of Bring back Mixu. Riordan arrested later on in the City nightclub.

Either that or 0-0:wink:

3-1 to Hibs after a shakey start going one down in the first ten minutes. We manage to get an equaliser (Riordan) Just before half time. At half time Yogi reads the riot act, we come out fired up, Nish scores early and Benji adds one more after coming on as sub.

And that, my friends, is what happens:agree:

No, he is in the squad but I have a horrible gut feeling that he isnt 100% and a wet pitch may not help. - Just a guess tho. No inside knowledge or anything

I predict the match will be called off at 12.37 due to a waterlogged pitch. Might be a good thing as the swampy conditions ain't going to help our return to a passing game.
