I might be going there for a couple of weeks later in the year.

Has anyone been?

I’ll be going with the in-laws, in their 70s, who are fit and good at getting around but couldn’t cope with a steep hill to and from the beach sort of thing or basically any steep bit to and from any bit you might like to go to.

I’ve had a look on Google earth and its inconclusive; as it was when we went to Gran Alicante last year and the terrain looked OK. It was only when we got there we found, what the locals called, Cardiac Hill was between us and the beach. Kinda spoiled things a bit!

When they said the apartment was 400 metres from the beach we didn’t realise we would be 200 metres from a 200 metre cliff!!! :agree:

A very 'English' spanish town if you know what i mean. Lots of English people there and pubs and chippys etc.

The beaches are nice but stay way from the big jaggedy rocks on either side in the big long one, me and my sister almost drowned there last year and had to be rescued by civilians. Lifeguards were useless. :bitchy:

Was only there for lunch and a visit to the beach so sorry i cant give you anything more in-depth.

Been there during the day so can't pass comment on the nightlife.

There are 9 beaches to choose from. Getting to most beaches will involve some sort of hill but the main ones are fairly easy to get to.

There are lots of nice little villages up in the mountains away from the resorts. Competa and Canillas de Aceituno are two of many.

Its a nice wee town. There's lots of your bog-standard catering for "Brits on tour" (ie English breakfast and Carling) but there's lots of nice restaurants. Including right down on the seafront.

Not been for about 10 years but I remember it as a pretty village , ideal for a holiday for families or older folk . One of the main tourist attractions are caves that are well worth a visit but not suitable for elderly folk (steep steps etc ) . Main beach is quite small and not particularly difficult to walk to and there are other beaches nearby which are easy to get to . Lots of foreign (particularly British ) owned businesses but more bookshops than nightclubs .
