Just back from the parade which for those of you dont know was held in Holyrood park instead of Princes Street.

Must say what a much better area to hold a parade this is. Room to let kids run around, great view from everywhere, loads of stuff going on and reasonably easy to get away.

Parade was usual stuff in order- Motorbikes (200 Harleys complete with suitably attired blokes and one guy who looked like he should have been astride a scooter), The Tattoo acts (bands, dancers and a great CHineses troup), usual Festival acts (various hoorays trying promote some awful act, the Ladyboys - think we got the more manly side) then some advertising stuff and a few hangers on at the end.

Great weather and hope they dont revert back to Princes Street next year.

You are right about it being a great area for events but it is a pain in the erky if you live in Meadowbank area (as i do), to travel from the Southside to my house took about 70 minutes on Sunday.

Not a problem if it's occasional but we have had 'the gathering' events and any time Lizzie pays a visit they close the park at a moments notice when she pops out for a fag never mind the upheaval with her garden party.
