Seriously, the woman needs to be left alone. Anyone else find it a bit disturbing how this is all going? It's a tragedy waiting to happen.

The point being that if everyone just left her alone, and stopped talking about her, then maybe she could return to her normal life with her little cat and her usual Wim Jansen look that she had pre makeover.
It's getting tedious.
I'm much more interesting than her and nobody wants my autograph. What's that all about ?

At least terrorists now no longer want 40 virgins if they go on a suicide mission.

Come on she is obviously a very talented singer however who could imagine the microsopic attention she has been put under especially for someone so very normal and low key.

It's all that's wrong with "society" at the moment.
She went on stage, sang for 2 minutes and now we've had 2 months of newspapers and magazines going on about "SuBo This" and "SuBo That".
This whole obsession with "celebrity" is horrific, especially when the "celebrity" in question literally only had 2 minutes of fame. I don't understand the clamour of magazine and newspaper "journalists" (I use the term loosely) telling me in graphic detail what Susan Boyle had for Breakfast, or what "SuBo" wears when she nips to the shop.
The next ****** who gets checked out of Big Brother will be treated like a hero and get the same treatment. Poor nurse working another stressful Saturday night at A&E will probably get abused by someone she's trying to help.
I just don't get it - will someone please explain?

That story has not told me anything I don't already know.
One eyewitness reportedly said: "She was not in good shape." I could have told you that.
Another hotel guest added: "She just did not look right." I could have told you that as well.
"She got stuck in the hotel's revolving doors which looked ridiculous". Maybe she thought it was a coat and was just trying it on. :greengrin
The woman as far as I can see has IMHO had mental problems long before all this recent nonsense but the constant demands etc has now blown the lid of the pressure cooker that was on simmer. For her own sake she would be better going back to her quiet life in Blackburn and looking after her cat.
Celebs. :bye:

That's not really true though, is it? She appeared on Britains (not) Got (much) Talent, and sang for 2 minutes.
I don't think she'd ever guessed that for months afterwards there would be close up photos of her in Heat magazine and other low-brow gutter publication telling the world about sweat patches or sarky comments panning her for wearing a Primark jacket.
I even saw in Heat that in a story about Jordan and Peter Andre breaking up, they still managed to find a way of talking about "SuBo". I mean, why? How was she to know she would get so much attention and so soon?

16 million people watched the final of that show and i would bet it wasnt far off in other shows as well, people know if you enter shows like x factor, britains got talent, big brother etc that you could be put in the limelight.
im not saying i dont feel sorry for her because it is turining out to be a very sad story but it is self inflicted its just the media are dragging it out longer, which relates to the OP and they wont leave her alone untill people get bored off her or she goes somewhere to get away from it.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't even know the name of one other single person who appeared on that show or even tell you what they looked like.
The public lap it up. She looks odd, the public love it. She's a bit older, the public love it. She has a decent voive, the public love it.
She has a breakdown, the public love it.
It's all very sad how people actually enjoy others having a breakdown. This is why I hate "gossip" mags, they make money off the back of others misery.

She was entering a contest in the hope of winning it and eventually appearing in front of Her Majesty the Queen. To some extent she must have known what she was lining herself up for even if she had just made it through the preliminaries. That she did and from then on the pressure was too much. You could even see the relief in her face when she didn't win the final.
Some people can handle the pressure of being in the limelight but unfortunately not in her case. I don't think she would ever adjust to the media being in her face.
For her own health she would be better snuggling up with the cat and maybe doing the odd karaoke in the local. :agree:

the bit in bold is probably me and you who wouldnt miss it if it wasnt there but there is a lot of folk out there who are well in to these programmes who would tell you what street in blackburn susan boyle lives in and have got tickets to see the road show etc
but i do agree with the other points about gossip mags lapping it up making it into something much more than it really is and putting more stress and misery on poor susan boyle :agree:

Aye, but absolutely nobody has had the media coverage she has and nobody that has gone on the show has had America's elite talk show hosts wanting them or their show. When going on the show she (like anybody) really must have expected the usual treatment that these folk get (AKA fives minutes of fame, whilst the show is running).
Obviously she put herself into the public eye but couldn't expect the coverage she has gotten. nobody could expect that. Therefore I do feel sorry for her and hope she recovers and leads a normal life (or a multi million album :greengrin)

That's the saddest thing about all of this - her life will never be "normal" again!
I see this lady as someone who was, in the main, happy with her lot in life. Happy with her wee cat and her wee trips down to the club to sing karaoke. I'd put money on it that one day someone, a friend or acquaintance down the pub, suggested she should enter the comp, and from there it just took off.
SB appears to have some problems with life skills (I don't know if I'm saying this right and certainly don't want to appear condescending) but whatever is causing her breakdown was inside her before all this kicked off. I think it was a subtle thing though, and it's only now, that all the pressure has come to bear on her, that we're seeing this "flaw" in her personality.
I truly feel heart sorry for her. She does have a talent, of that I have no doubt, but like many, many talented people in various walks of life, a la George Best, Frank Bruno or Alex Higgins etc., (and unlike Les Dawson or Spike Milligan) the strength of character and self awareness of her own weaknesses, are not there to carry her through.
The very least the producers of BTG can do is ensure that whatever happens from now on in Susan Boyle's life, she always has professional and personal support to help her manage her life.
