Just drove up Gilmerton Rd and the police have Walter Scott Avenue taped off. There's a load of police cars and vans sitting on Gilmerton Rd aswell, anyone heard anything?

I'd imagine it's to with the shooting of the guy Martyn Barclay.

Been there since at least 7 this morning.
Seems a strange place to block off the road though as the Igoe's stay at the Old Dalkeith Road end. They could have taken a much lower profile if it is to do with the Barclay shooting.
There were 9 Police vehicles there 15 minutes ago which suggests some form of retribution or a seperate incident unrelated has taken place, perhaps at the shops.
I'm not too sure about this point - maybe I'm cabbaged can confirm - but did the Igoes not have a christening at The Libby yesterday?

A 30-year-old man has been killed in a hit and run incident in Edinburgh.
Paul Bonnar from the Gilmerton area of the city was knocked down in Walter Scott Avenue at about 1330 BST.
Lothian and Borders Police said they believed the car was a white Mitsubishi Evolution - registration P479CRN - which was stolen from Brunswick Street.
Officers have appealed to anyone who may have seen the car, or who has information regarding the identity of the driver to contact them.
Insp Andy Gilhooley added: "We are also making a special appeal to the driver of the vehicle to contact the police."

About 13:30? This news broke on Radio Forth about 10am this morning - it was reported as a police investigation - I wonder if there were 2 seperate "incidents"?

No, with Prestonfield many moons ago, Jason is nearer my age so we played in the same team and Paul would come along and play 5's/train etc.

Not that I know of mate but there are a few Bonnar's around the area who could be.
Pat Bonnar's (ex Celtic keeper) sister still stays in Gracemount I believe - likely to be a relation to them?

He was my big cousin's best mate's cousin. Personally I've never met him but I know my cousin's mate is absolutely devastated. Thoughts are with his family
