Brock is a very good fighter in the UFC. He is actually very fast and athletic for a guy his size. He is bigger than most of the other heavyweights in the UFC, he has to cut to make the heavyweight weight limit. He is a very good wrestler and he seems to pick up other aspects of mixed martial arts quickly.
He is the champ in the ufc right now after beating an ageing Randy couture but the ufc heavyweight division is pretty weak right now. Fedor who is the best heavyweight in the world would beat him easily but Brock has only been training mma for a while and still has a lot to learn.

Brocks next fight is against Frank Mir at UFC 100 on july 11

Machida was brilliant, i was a bit disappointed at the serra vs hughes fight, all hughes done was lie on top of him and do very little damage, should have been a draw if anything.

Chael Sonen was as boring as they come tho, but Kryzstof Soszynsky done well with a really nice knockout!

How's Bisping rated in the UFC?

I used to be right into a good few years ago when it was on Bravo then lost interest in it.

Cro Cop, Wandy and Kongo are all lethal. This is a surprisingly good card considering a lot of the other European ones that the UFC has put together.

Oh yeah, and Shogun will fight Machida for the title at UFC 104.

Been watching shogun since the Pride days. I realy hope he beats Machida. This is Machidas biggest test and if Shogun comes in 100% he can definately do it.

He always has his chin back though. He really is very hard to hit with a decent shot. When you add to his elusive nature, his dangerous straight right hand, he'll comfortably dispatch Shogun IMO. If however, Shogun were to attack from different angles, and make himself harder to counter, then Machida may well struggle with him.

No news for this weekend yet but in the future it looks like it will be on a new ESPN channel yet to launch, it will be £9 if you already have Sky Sports and £12 if you only have Sky, there is no info on freeview or virgin viewers yet.

It's available on UFC website free to British viewers and it's being shown live on Setenta Ireland, so if you had the Setanta package you'll be able to see it.

Obviously they couldn't get a deal done in time so instead of charging the British viewers they're giving us a freebie, which is all good. Me, i've got Setanta Ireland still on my sky(430 ):greengrin

It was poor but he never pushed the pace to outright win the rounds which was disappointing as i dont think machida knew what to do with him. I reckon shogun could have went for it. Rounds 1 and 2 were a night mare to score, 3 was easily machidas and 4 and 5 were shoguns, its a shame its went down like this, machida is excellent and a top bloke and him getting booed for a judges decision is very harsh, its really not his fault.

Dana has already said there will be a rematch as soon as possible so id expect it in january and i think youll see both guys go for it so it doesnt go to the judges!

UFC champion Brock Lesnar's scheduled title defense against undefeated heavyweight contender Shane Carwin has been canceled. The fight had been scheduled for UFC 106 on November 21st but Lesnar has been battling an ongoing (undisclosed) illness.

UFC President Dana White told Yahoo! Sports, "He said he’s never been this sick in his life. He said it’s been going on for a long time and he just hasn’t been able to shake it."

White was quick to shoot down a rumor that Lesnar has contracted swine flu, but didn't go into detail on what the illness is.

Shane Carwin posted a message on his Twitter account this afternoon that the fight will now take place at UFC 108 on January 2, 2010.

Hardy is good but GSP will do what he always does! wrestle him for 5 rounds. Thats all he did against Alves and it was so sh*t to watch!

Not really. GSP is good. Prob the best at what he does but at only takes one good hit and lights out. Dan is the under dog and i think he will want to prove ppl wrong. Josh has made Hardy sound weak and Hardy will be wanting to shut everyone up.

I'm well aware that a title fight is five rounds. My point was that Hardy just isn't good enough to take the fight to the later stages. GSP is too strong and hits too hard for him.

Hardy is the best boxer GSP has fought recentley(maybe ever) so I think Hardy has a chance. It just depends how good Hardys takedown defense is.

didn't watch all the fights because i recorded it and fast forward for most of it but i did watch guida bj and kongo fights in full. i thought guida cut was pretty bad untill the close up of sanchez's, that was some cut :sick:

Mir looked awesome, Penn was about a class above Sanchez, totally dominant and Florian had a very good win against Guida.

Sanchez's cut was a beaut, 3" long on his forehead above his left eye, Guida's was under his hair but looked pretty deep also.

Does anyone alse think Sanchez has lost a bit of power and strength since going down to 155lbs, ye he looks sharp but against a top lightweight he looked very average and underpowered.

Have to agree with you mate. He looked weak. After his fight with Guida at UF 9 final i thought he looked awesome and could take the fight right to BJ but that was not the case. As for his cut:jamboak:

Mir was was always a big lump but carried a lot of fat, he's been on a strength and conditioning programme and added around 25lbs of muscle.
