Sponsor scottiestrikes

Hi peeps.

Scottie has registered to do the Big Fun Run 5K in Dundee on 16th August and has decided to have the Dnipro kids as his charity. Apart from it being one close to all of our hearts its one he can relate to through the reports and photos we receive and has helped out with bucket shaking before.

If anybody wants to sponsor him it would be greatly appreciated not only by him but the Dnipro kids as well

He also has a sponsor form for anybody who doesn't want to donate online - I can arrange to meet up or PM me and we can arrange something.

An update for his sponsors:

scotts training hard and looking forward to the run. He is working on his times as he wants to do you all proud. Obviously on the day the crowds will mean he doesn't run his best times but he wants to show he is working hard. He has raised quite a bit of money offline too which will be added nearer the time. I'm a very proud mum just now :agree:

Another quick update for his sponsors.

Scott is still training hard and has managed to get off the treadmill and onto the road a few times recently thanks to the weather.

He is really looking forward to the run and is desperate to do everyone proud. :agree:

Well! Tommorow is the big day. Scott is bursting he is so desperate to do well. I dont think he will sleep tonight. He has everything sorted including a green pen to write a wee 18 in front of his number 75 once he has registered. :greengrin

His hibs kit is lying out waiting for him and his running shoes all cleaned. He has had a few problems withhis heel and they have flared up (typically) over this last week but he's managing it with nurofen and ice.

Thanks to everybody who has sponsored him and I will post photos as soon as I can.

Well it was scotts Big Fun Run today for the Dnipro appeal (thanks to everybody who sponsored him) and he surpassed himself.

He came THIRD!!!!!!!!

We think there was between 250 and 300 runners although must say we didn't pay that much attention. I saw a number 257 so it gave us an indication.

11am they all started together, no runners then walkers. Scott was in about the third or fourth row. They took a left turn and headed up a hill. I saw him go along the straight in about 10th place but had said to him not to push it. His goal was to finish the race in a good time not to race against the adults. Some of whom you coud see were very fit.

At about 20 minutes in we saw the first runner coming up the wee hill and hit home about 21 mins. After we applauded him home we turned round and saw another poor man almost on his knees but doing fantastic, he came in just over 22 minutes, he got the applause too but I dont think he was in a fit state to notice :greengrin

We turned round and immediately saw a wee blonde spikey head start appear over the hill and someone over that way shouted its a wee boy! I knew it was him immediately:agree: The green Hibs strip stood out amazingly against the backdrop and a wee lone runner looked across at me and grinned. Scott came in at 23mins 6 seconds. It was about another minute before the next couple came in so he did us all very proud.

The guy with the mike ran over and spoke to him and he got another cheer from the crowd. He also won a T shirt which is far too big for him lol. He doesn't care though he is a very happy boy just now.

Once again a huge thank you from me and Scott and I am sure the Dnipro Appeal for the money donated and the support he has been given. I am sure we will hit the £500 target once I have collected the last of the promised money.

Photos will be up soon
