So if all the tabloids are to be believed, there will be the following RE: Jade Goody

- A movie depicting her life :bitchy:
- A Statue of her built in Bermondsey :bitchy:
- A council estate renamed in her honour :greengrin
- Jack Tweed will pen a best selling book (pwetty crayon scribbles at best)

Will any of the above actually happen or is it our favourite papers stirring it in the hope that it'll shift copies?

When did she become Mother Teresa??? :cool2:

Members of our armed forces (bigger heroes than Jade Goody) are killed in battle and barely get a mention in the press....disgustin like :agree:

Before anybody accuses me of being a heartless barsteward, I do feel sorry for her two boys loosing their mother but feel nothing for the whole Jade Goody publicity wagon which just got to the point of ridiculous when Max "I'm such a slippery customer" Clifford appeared on the scene.

BTW, Mr Fairnie did state that if people wanted to post other things rather than RIP to create a new thread so i guess I did :greengrin

Gramo, I'm normally extremely vexed and galled by the inanity that you post on this site. Heck, sometimes I have even found myself switching my PC off after reading your, what some may consider to be, 'self indulgent twaddle'. However, let it be known that I fully agree with your sentiments and I will admire you for this for the next 4 minutes only. :agree:

Relax. It's highly unlikely any of that will happen.

If you go onto Play.com there are 3 or 4 top selling books to do with Jade.

I don't think the above will happen but I reckon that Jack will write a book to make a few quid for himself. I think he would have received a fraction of the amount raised for her kids recently so will need to earn his own crust and the easiest way to do it is with a book or a big story to the papers running over a week or so.

The 3 trustees that are left to run Jade's finances and make sure the boys get a good schooling are long time friends of Jade's, as for the Movie and stature that's never going to happen. As for Jack Tweed he plans to auction off Jade Goody’s clothes to raise money for cancer charities according to today's papers. He will then hopefully fade away but something tells me we haven't heard the last of this guy.

A question aimed at folk that read tabloid magazines or newspapers is what pleasure does it bring reading such stuff? It is popcorn reading at best and because there is a big enough demand by people not willing to exercise their brain that bit more in demanding better and more thought provoking journalism the rest of us have to sit and suffer in quiet indignation and be made out to be bad people if we dare voice our opinions. I want to read thought provoking articles about someone who it is easy to admire, i want to read articles on someone who shy's away from the spotlight despite the fact their deeds are for the greater good and i want to read about people who have something of note to say rather than having it ran thru a machine that spins at a faster rate of rpm's than any heavy machinery in industry. Please enough of this idiocracy like society that we live in!

Given the sales of such publications obviously quite a lot of pleasure. I really don't see how it affects those of us who don't read them. Each to their own I say. I believe most people, including those that read the celeb publications, see it for what it is. Harmless puff. Would you criticise someone for spending their relaxation time listening to pop/ rock music rather than exercising their intellect by taking in a classical symphony? Same thing surely?
