I seriously need to cut down on the ammount of sugary fizzy juice i am drinking.
There is always a big bottle of coke in my fridge and i always have a bottle of Irn Bru in my van.
I dread to think of the ammount of fat i would be gaining from this if i was not going to the gym.
Anyway , i like my Fizzy juice and i have tried to give it up before and failed.
Water doesnt do it for me and i'm sure Milk has just about as many calories.
Most diet juices are bogging :agree: Diet Coke is minging.
What can i drink at night and in the van thats not going to make me fat ?
Does Coke Zero really only contain 1 calorie ?
Ideas ?

I cut out full fat juice and lost half a stone in about 2 weeks so there must be something in it. Usallly buy Pepsi Max or Coke Zero. Diet Irn Bru is not to bad when you get used to it.
Still enjoy the occasional Full fat Irn Bru though. Can't beat it.

I know the idea is to cut down on fizzy drinks - all good dentists will agree :greengrin
However I drink a lot too. I used to be like you and only drunk the real stuff but decided it was ridiculous. I changed to Diet stuff - it took 2 or 3 days of sticking with it and now I cant drink the sugary stuff of anything. Mostly drink diet Coke now which I couldn't stomach a few years ago.

Equivalent of 7 teaspoons of sugar in a can of coke apparently, GP i knew used to describe sugar as white death!
Only time i really drink the fizzy stuff is with a hangover with Irn Bru being the juice of choice.
I ended up being diabetic a few years back, thought the same about diet coke/diet bru.
After drinking it for a few weeks you'll get used to it and probably eventially dislike the taste of normal coke/irn bru

It's evil stuff, not only is it driving the obesity epidemic, it's sending kids crazy and all your going to end up with filling yourself with that poison is type 2 diabetes.
I would ship all supplies to Tynecastle with immediate effect.
To get off it? By yourself a blender and make fruit and veg juices.

fruit smoothies are full of suger.
When i was younger, i'd eat healthily and brush my teeth regularly, but I would constantly have a can of Coke in my hand. Last year, the dentist told me i needed 5 fillings, purely due to the amount of fizzy drinks i was drinking. Since then, i haven't touched a fizzy drink, and been drinking only goold ol' H20. I feel healthier, and my skin is a lot clearer. I still have dodgey teeth however, as the damage from fizzy drinks will be there for a lifetime :boo hoo:

I used to hate the taste of Diet Coke too, but started drinking it to get off the full fat stuff.
Now I'll easily have 3 or 4 cans of Diet Coke in a day.

pepsi max for me, can't drink the sugary stuff now, although it still sounds strange going in for a fish supper, carton of curry sauce and a can of diet coke :greengrin

I am sitting with a can of diet coke just now and its crap. Really crap.
Thats it though , no more full fat fizzy juice for me.
Coke zero tastes not too bad but it goes flat very quickly then tastes rubbish :greengrin
I had thought about the smoothies already but i would end up having 3-4 glasses a night and i'm sure that would be just as bad.

And the 'diet' versions are bung-full of artificial sweeteners like apsartame, which are really not good for you either.

I tend to drink a lot of bottled water rather than sodas, though I confess I'm a coffee addict and need to do something about that.

I've never been a fan of full sugar stuff but i guess thats because it was diet fizzy juice in the house (but mainly diluting) when i was a kid, full sugars just to sweet though :no way:

I sit and drink Coke all the time.
I would say at my worst though I go through around 3-4 2 litre bottles a week.

Definately has to be diluting for me. Probably because we were not allowed fizzy juice in the house when I was wee!!

I grew up in a house where our entire liquid intake was delivered by the Alpine man. For some reason - can't remember - I decided I was going to have to drink more water, gradually got used to it, and now the thought of fizzy juice as a main drink seems bizarre. I buy some at Christmas as a treat for the kids, and for parties - because we have family who won't drink anything else.
Persevere, SG. Most people seem top lose the taste for sugar in drinks once they get accustomed to them without.

Drink fruit juice, its better for you - the "not from concentrate" stuff as well as its fresher.
Its a common myth that you have to drink 2 litres of water a day - tosh made up by american scientists in the 1950's and taken completely out of context.
Here endeth the lesson.

Fizzy water 50/50 with the fruit juice of your choice. Gives you your fizz and any sugars are natural from the fruit (and significantly less than)
My fav is red grape & sparkling water :greengrin

Diluting for me....I only take a small bit to flavour the water and always use chilled filtered water from the fridge....quality refreshment and very little additives, suger etc etc
I've always thought the idea of 'fat' juice was a bit daft tbh.

I have an idea but you're not going to like it. Cut out the fizzy juice, it's nothing but empty calories. I try to drink lots of water but you say that does't do it for you. Keep trying because you kinda need water. ;)
