A film about one of Britain's most notorious criminals has been condemned by prison officers for glorifying violence. Bronson tells the story of Charles Bronson, the man described as the country's most dangerous prisoner.

The film is released next week, two days after Bronson goes before the Parole Board to try to win his freedom after 34 years inside.

Bronson's original seven-year sentence for armed robbery has been compounded by a series of assaults, hostage-taking and rooftop protests which have run up millions of pounds in repair bills.

Many films have been made over the years about child killer, rapists, kidnappers, serial killers, bank robbers, you name it and I bet you there is a film about it. Not sure what all the fuss is about, Bronson tells the story of Charles Bronson, the man described as the country's most dangerous prisoner and if people don't like it then they shouldn't go to the pictures to see it.

Agree totally. Can't understand why people get so hot and bothered about movies. It's not like anybody is dragging them to the cinema and forcing them to watch it. As for the idea that impressionable nutters will commit copycat offences, if they're stupid enough to be influenced in that way then they're going to do something daft anyway.
