I’m on a RNID mailing list through my work. Today I received this as part of the mail shot and thought some of you guys might be interested.
We've launched a brand new hearing check - one you can use online. You probably already know about our telephone hearing check, now hosted by Barbara Windsor, which allows you to check your hearing on the phone in just a few minutes by dialling 0844 800 3838 (calls from a BT landline cost up to 5p per minute. Other providers' charges may vary. Call set up charge may apply).
Now, a visit to RNID's new online hearing check (http://www.rnid.org.uk/howwehelp/hearing_check?from=/hearingmatters/ (http://www.rnid.org.uk/howwehelp/hearing_check?from=/hearingmatters/)) will allow you to do the same check without picking up the phone.
As well as encouraging people to check their hearing, we are campaigning for the Government to introduce a hearing screening programme for people over 55. One of the reasons for this is to improve the diagnosis of hearing loss and help people address a hearing loss more quickly.
