Anyone who saw Gordon Browns statement could see, for obvious reasons, it was heartfelt.

One of my best friends has cerebral palsy and is in a wheel chair. But yes this is really sad new for anyone. No parent should outlive their children.

Like others I don't like him or his party, but this is very sad for him and his family, even although it was expected by them it must be extremely painful for them at the moment.

Absolutely tragic news. At times like this, there should be no political rivalries.

The fact that little Ivan's premature death didn't exactly come as a huge shock, is beside the point. I don't suppose it makes it any easier to deal with, when the inevitable finally happens.

It was a fantastic speech by Gordon Brown. It was completely genuine, totally heartfelt and he knows more than most, how the Camerons must be feeling right now.

The following statement by Gordon Brown, summed up my thoughts perfectly.

"Every child is precious and irreplaceable".

There's not much that can really be added to that.
