No - I know a lady in the Colinton area who would make life MUCH more unpleasant for him.
Works for the Cat Protection League - she'd probably mince him and feed him to the little darlings.
Very, very slowly....

As horrible as this was I find it incredibe how some people seem to get more upset about animals than they do people.
I was at the Frankie Boyle show last October and he got a laugh when talking about Shannon Matthews/Madelaine McCann but a "ooohhhh" when talking about animals.
I'm sure he does those jokes to show the absurdity.

And children aren't?
As I said it's disgusting what this guy done (and the sentence probably isn't harsh enough) but a lot of people seem to treat an animals life as more important than a humans.

Yes they are, thats the point. Crimes against children and animals are so repugnant to most of us because they are (relatively) defenceless. Psychologically, it stirs up strong feelings of paternalism in right-minded people.

I believe that some people are more outraged/offended when crimes involve an animal than they are when it involves a human.

You might be right. Depends on what kind of crime it is I suppose.

Possibly, but can you imagine the outcry if someone microwaved a baby (assuming they managed to get the door shut)?

There would be an outcry no doubt about it!
The example I used though was a comedian joking about Madelaine McCann and Shannon Matthews and also about abusing a kitten - the child kidnap got a laugh yet the kitten got an "ooohhhhh".
I believe that some people are more outraged/offended when crimes involve an animal than they are when it involves a human.I dont know where exactly you are going with this DH but as far as i can see folk on this thread are showing their "outrage" at the perpetrator of this sickening act of cruelty to a defenceless animal ..
Im sure if such had been done to a human being then folk would of course voice their disgust/outrage etc ..
I can just about voice my disgust at this sickening act much like i did when a wee mouse was tied to a rocket & blasted to bits a while back...regardless of a mouse being vermin i think that like the kitten situation are both sick acts in the extreme..

You can't really compare peoples' reactions to comedy and reality.

Fair enough - though in the example the child kidnap was the reality and the kitten wasn't, yet the reactions were the wrong way round (IMO).
Anyway apologies if I'm offending anyone by taking this thread off track.

Neither of those two were put in a microwave as far as anyone knows, and neither are confirmed as dead either.
I'm sure if a baby had been put in a microwave and died as a result you'd find there was a tad more outrage than has been expressed on this thread. The sentence would probably be a little more lengthy as well!

Shannon Matthews mother got 8 years.
This asshole didnt even get 8 minutes in jail. A kitten today, whatsay a kid tomorrow?
That's possibly why people get all ooooohhhhh when it comes to people being cruel to animals?

Not if you do it for pleasure/to relieve boredom. I mean in the microwave FFS.

That I do agree with - his behaviour shows a tendency toward mentalism. He should've got longer to make sure he's rehabilitated and never tries to up the ante.

TBH I was wondering :wtf: Peevmor was going on about.
I understood what you were saying about it being a little strange about how people view humans and animals differently and think that animal cruelty is worse than human.
On a separate note, I was told about the McCann / Matthews joke relating to masks! And IIRC it was very funny but very low...
