Personally I think someone who has murdered on 13 separate occasions and attempted to murder on another 7 should NEVER, EVER be released from prison or a secured unit, regardless of what any doctors say. :grr:

The guy fooled the police for long enough, now he’s fooling the quacks, sorry doctors.

Throw away the key or give him a good length of rope – these should be his alternatives.

Surely his previous skills with a hammer and chisel and the fact he's completed a joinery course whilst banged up would enable him to rejoin society as a useful addition to any community?

Would you let him in to put up shelves in your house?
A bullet or 2 in the head is what he needs.

I doubt Sutcliffe will ever be released, nor should he be.

Correct.
Whole-lifers are only released on compassionate grounds or under extreme circumastances.
Suddenly becoming "low-risk" doesn't qualify.

Released? Oxygen is too good for him. :agree:

It would be a brave Home Secretary who releases someone like Sutcliffe.

He should stay where he is for his own safety, let alone that of the public.

Anyone found guilty of premeditated murder should be jailed until the end of their natural life. Peter Sutcliffe should remain in prison until the day he dies.

Peter Sutciffe is now classified as low risk and as long as he takes his medication he should be ok. :greengrin

But he is not moving next door to me :greengrin

Robert Mone will be another that will soon be looking for his freedom.

13 murders at say 13 years is 169 years
+
7 attempted murders at say 5 years is 36 years
=
205

if he serves 205 years I would have no problem with him being released as that is how our justice system works

Life used to be 15 years, so that's an extra 26 years, therefore realistically we'd be looking at 231 years before anyone should have a problem.

Rehabilitation.

It works for almost everyone don't you know?

Peter Sutcliffe will never be released, just because he is now classified as 'sane' means nothing. Obviously a slow news day for the tabaloids. You used to get the odd story about Myra Hyndley getting out every so often as well, didn't happen.
