The whole of London and the South of Engerland grinds to a halt because of a wee bit snow, poor souls

Surely you mean soft Westerners. Life goes on as always when Siberia calls here.

The Canadians and people in the northern states of the USA must be killing themselves laughing at seeing these pictures on the news tonight, even the people of northern Scotland will be wondering what all the fuss is about.

I have a relative who lives in southern England and they say that all it takes is for a single snowflake to fall and they're rushing to find their sledges.

London got less than a foot of snow today. Now I know it's rare for them to get any snow at all, but they were well warned that this was going to happen so there's not really any excuse for the transport system almost coming to a complete standstill.

It's ludicrous.

I just came back from Canada. The snow banks lining the roads were 8-9 foot high and the temps down to -30c. People just get on with things.

I don't think we do things here like we used to to.

Watching the news last night, I thought it was pitiful that London was crippled by such a small flurry. What's really getting me though is how - once again - adverse weather in a small corner of the UK (geographically at least) becomes a national crisis.
