Arite folks this might come in useful for peeps with kids born between 1986 -2003,its genuine ive been on the phone to them and they confirmed im due 520 bucks:thumbsup:..Needs to be claimed by 31st January..

The year before Tax Credits were introduced there was a different non-means tested allowance available, which was never advertised by the Inland Revenue.

It is called the Children's Tax Allowance for the Year 2002/3.

You can still claim this tax allowance before the 31 January 2009 deadline.
You need to phone HMRC on 0845 302 1432 and ask them to check whether you have already received this allowance and, if not, enquire as to what action you need to take.

...the infoon the page linking the form has a tax locator which suggests you send it to your registered tax office if employed(ie my work is registered in Manchester)

We sent ours to Preston as thats where our other tax credit stuff goes - dont know if it was right or not. We checked hubbys wage slips and it looks like we may get it and it will be the larger amount as my wee one was born April 2002. Not counting our chickens though.
