Plane has crashed into the Hudson river in New York.

Looks like it could be a lucky escape for passengers and crew.

Excellent work by the pilots to get the plane down without damaging the fuselage. Great news that nobody is hurt.

Will surely go down as a textbook landing after engine failure. Excellent work by the crew.

If I remember correctly, something vaguely similar to this happened several years ago. Planes seems to have a problem taking off from LGA.

Really? If so that has to be addressed quickly. Was it not this airport that had the incident of a smaller commercial jet taking off after a 747 and getting caught up in its wake turbulence. It crashed near houses in NY and was around about Sept 11th IIRC

This was the plane that crashed into Queens, shortly after 9/11.

It took off from JFK though, not LaGuardia.

All jokes aside, the New York City Harbour have released video footage of the actual landing in the Hudson.

No doubt about it - the pilot deserves the widespread accolade he's been given as what he managed is absolutely outstanding :agree:
