In terms of the political specturm (left wing or right wing) do you consider yourself to slide towards being a 'leftie' or a 'rightie'....

I personally wouldn't define myself as left wing, right wing or in the centre. I give my opinions on every issue that i'm interested in, and call it as I see it.
But in the interests of labeling people politically, I would say that I am, generally, right of centre.

But your views on each issue that arise will make you either predominantly left, right or middle of the road so you can then on the whole define yourself as one of the three.

I remember talking to a politics lecturer about this and after a brief discussion on my views he decided I was at the wind up and told me to **** off. He reckoned it was impossible to swing so far back and forth right to left.

I did this test and my results are below. I don't really know what it means to be honest. I'm not daft and have a good job etc but have never really paid much attention to politics. I just generally base my views on the question or situation at that time.
What were all the double negatives about in the questions?
Questions like the one below, I never knew what that meant so just put 'agree'.
"from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a fundamentally good idea.

It means you're very slightly to the right of centre.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." Is a founding Marxist principle. It basically means that everyone should put into the community what they are able to, and then take back from the community only what they need - regardless of whether they have contributed more than others.
Progressive taxation and the Welfare State are, in essence, this put into practice.

I'll be wary of a complete thread hi-jack here, but I tell you I've had nowt but trouble in regards to the SWP. They come out with the most rediculous things, such as this inditement of football, as well as nonsence like supporting hamas' indescriminate bombing of israel, using bizzare "my enemy's enemy is my friend" logic.
I know that Socialist Appeal are active in glasgow (my hibby mate recently moved through and is doing stuff through there), so I dunno if you want me to drop you a PM with any future public meetings or anything? :dunno:

Yes, they're not exactly shy of jumping into bed with anyone and everyone - and prostituting their own beliefs by doing so.
I'm involved with a few odds and ends through here, but yeah a PM would be good and I'll read up a bit more about them.

You must be hopelessly confused then:greengrinas the SNP contains everyone from Thatcherites to Scargillites-the only thing keeping them together is a drive for independence. In the unlikely event that that is achieved the SNP will split into factions and as a party disappear while its most prominent members try to get the best jobs.
