Apparently the Forth Road Bridge was shut for a few hours because a drunk climbed up 400ft to contemplate life :agree::agree::agree:

Found out via The Sun today that it was a former school friend :agree::agree:

His comments leaving the court were hilarious....

"It was a stupid thing to do but I think it panned out alright"

Oh and he's yam

If I had my way he would have left the court and headed for the cells.

That idiot probably has no idea how much inconvenience was caused to people wanting to cross. What about all the resources tied up dealing with his antics? How much did that cost? There should be a cost put on it and he should be made to pay every penny of it back.

Bloody idiot.

if he was that depressed he would have just got on with it rather than climbing the tower. nowt but attention seeking.

I read this earlier on today. Anyone who hails a taxi from Portobello to the Forth Road Bridge in order to to climb it quite clearly has mental problems and hopefully will get them sorted out.

The guy is fortunate he's still alive and didn't harm any innocent people below.

To be honest the more I think about it maybe you're right. Shame on me for my initial reaction.

I suppose it did turn out alright as he said and hopefully he's getting help.

Saying that he's a fud so he should've been hosed down off the bridge:cool2:

That fact that he's a Yam, he should spend the rest of his life in Carstairs, probably a blessing.

Come back when you know someone or have been in that situation yourself - you are an absolute with that comment.

No wonder there is such a stigma still surrounding depression with attitudes like this on the go though! Even if it was attention seeking as you call it more likely than not it was a plea for help and hopefully now the lad will get the help to set him back on the straight and narrow and look to enjoy his life.
