Stick an advert in your local paper.

Worked for me doing the same and similar stuff.

likely to be some farming forums you could join and ask the question - try a google search

My partner's folks own a farm and I get the impression that farm work is fairly casual.

They seem to look for people around about the Spring time, in plenty of time to get things going for the harvest. But they are arable farmers, so dairy and livestock farmers might and probably do work differently.

I'm not sure if at this time of the year, there would be a huge amount going. Summer through to the end of Autumn is usually a good time, it seems.

Mostly they are small businesses so you could just write directly (http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?ssm=0&scrambleSeed=42155023&M=0&keywords=Farmer&companyName=&location=EH%25) to the farm owner to see if they have anything going.

You could also do worse than to stick an advert in this wee mag:
