Just out of interest, are you getting travel insurance money to help fund this extra wee bit to your hols? I'd hate it if i couldnt afford to stay out or whatever.

One of my managers is there. He has a house there so will not really be suffering, but I need him here.

the travel insurance i have with lloyds say they arent getting involved because it wasnt mechanical or to do with weather.:brickwall

but getting in contact again today to find out more, they have always got a way round it. emirates who were flying with and alot of other airlines are putting people up for free in hotels plus meals, think its 2000baht a day-40quid.

I'm supposed to be flying out to Bangkok (with Emirates) arriving on the 17th Dec, staying there for 3 nights before back to Bangkok airport for an internal flight to ****et then back to Bangkok again 10 days later to fly to Hong Kong.

At the moment its touch and go if the flight will go as although the airport protest is over and there have been some flights arriving today it may take a few weeks to get back to normal. :dunno:

I'm intending to leave it until the end of the week when the airline will have a better idea if flights will be ok and if not transfer them to another date.

My friend was due back from Thailand today but even though the protests have finished there are no international flights until Monday. She said she gets her hotel paid for but nothing else!

"Yesterday there were 12 extra flights for British people and others, and we expect that today there will be more than a dozen extra flights," he said.
