After searching, if you click on the distance (not postcode), it brings up Google Maps and gives you the quickest route to their house!!!

Just what I thought but curiosity got the better of me and lo and behold, top of the list in proximity to my postcode, is a guy I know and am highly likely to run into :hmmm: in the pub tomorrow night!

No BNP near me, but then again I might have the odd death camp commandant walking his grand kids in the park across the road.

I loathe and detest everything this vile organisation stand for, but am I alone in finding this information sinister?
Try thinking about a BNP government in power and then doing a search for 'Jews'.

Did a Google map search on the postcode. It isn't him. Phew!It gives everyone the 30 members closest to their address. I've got 30 within 2.18 miles of myself!

You're not alone.
I think this is one of the most irresponsible websites I have ever seen. You can even find out where they live and I'd be surprised if the creator of this invasion of privacy doesn't have blood on their hands soon.
If this was registered sex offenders then there would no doubt be an outcry from the human rights brigade on here.
I wonder if those who are indulging this...but worst of all allowing it to be presented actually use their brain.

Maybe if the government had released this information and maybe if BNP members had a history, going back through the centuries, of being oppressed and victimised and persecuted, would I find your comparison compelling.
But that's not the case. DPA rights and wrongs aside, the hypocrisy of a group that claims to be part of the democratic process but skulks in the shadows, agitating against the safeguards that protect the truly vulnerable, carries a certain stench.

:agree: It has the potential to create a fair bit of lawlessness. I'm not saying that all these people on that list are little angels, most of them are probably intolerant, racist hooligans. However, I always go back to the point that I made on another thread the other day. The BNP, whether people like it or not, is a legal political organisation and as such people are fully entitled to become members.
I wouldn't like them in power but at the same time, I cannot condone anyone who targets someone on this list as that just makes them as bad, in my book, as the people who represent the intolerant ideologies of the BNP that they claim to despise so much.

There are plenty anti-facist thugs who will gladly take the law into their own hands. This is giving them fish to shoot in a barrel and no-one seems bothered.
One of my old mates was doing a essay on racism during his studies and put his heart and soul into it. He joined the BNP purely for research purposes and was rewarded with some excellent material to present. His lecturer said it was one of the best presentations he had seen and applauded the amount of research and effort he had put into it.
He is in no way a racist but who will take that into account when they see his name and address on a list of BNP members? He will go down as a racist thug or nazi sympathiser or something like that...and god knows what will happen.
How many others are in that situation? I bet there's a lot.
I'll say it again. Why is this list availableto the general public?

I find it incredible that some people think its wrong to publish this information, after they are a registered political party and everyone's entitled to their views. So no one should be ashamed to be part of an organisation which they financially support :greengrin:greengrin:greengrin

I think schadenfreude (sp?) is the appropriate word :greengrin
I'm sure they'll appreciate that, it being old Germanic and that.

As a person who does not belong to any party...... I take the view that if you belong to a party that is legal then you have a right to privacy. Any person that engages in violence in order to forward their political beliefs will be punished by the courts.
The legal system does not allow personal vengence and any person who acts in such a way will be punished by the courts, probably with a custodial award.
The BNP has many people who are evil thugs but there are many decent people who support it because they are fed up with the established parties.
I would never support any party that uses violence to achieve their aims.
