One piece of Newspeak which has been really annoying me this year is the word "credit crunch".

Yes, there is a problem with the flow of credit between banks and then to lenders and borrowers etc, but the concept of "credit cruch" has hitherto covered all kinds of things in the news: job losses, austerity, economic downturn.

Finally, its good to see the BoE exploding the B.S (thats bullsh*t, not blacksaltire, though sometimes this is indistinguishable) - of the word "credit crunch".

Its a recession. It has been since July and we are about to have some tough times for the next 18-24 months. Batten down the hatches!

I'm hearing you but unfortunately I can't afford anything to batten them down with - in fact I can barely afford a single hatch to batten.

You know why? Credit crunch. :agree:

I'm afraid it is going to last a lot longer than the next 2 years. We are about to embark on a period of transition unprecedented in the history of human civilisation.

Here is a great link that explains why and why you owe to yourself and your family to grasp the implications of where we are headed. Interesting times ahead.
