I went to a guest lecture today on the subject: Did man really land on the moon?

Turned out to be really interesting, and being given by an astronomer the science behind it was accurate and tested to prove the hoax theories to be nonsense.

Anyway, as an aside he showed us a clip that I have never seen and found hilarious;

He's meant to be a professional photographer and should know simple reasons that stars were not seen in the moon landing photo's etc etc, but still argues otherwise. Grade A fud

My take on it is that Apollo 11 DID land on the moon as planned but because of Kennedy's insistance that they would get there before the end of the decade and the fact Apollo 11 was the last opportunity they had to acheive that they staged a fake moon landing before the mission that would be broadcast to save face should Apollo 11 fail and its these images that the consipiricy theorists are pointing at.

The funniest hoax on the go is a group that believe that man did land on the moon but they found an alien civilisation and have been covering that up

Its expensive and NASA wanted to try some different things. We're working on going back (by 2020 I think). I think China is also working towards getting there sometime in the next dozen years or so.

Cheers, I just find it strange that after more than forty years nobody has been back up there. :greengrin

There's more atmosphere on the moon than in the West Upper at ER :wink:

Seriously though, people who believe the moon landings are fake need to get a grip and yes, I do know a few who go on about it :blah:

Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell, David Scott, James Irwin, John W. Young, Charles Duke, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt I think, but I may have just fabricated those names.

Personally I think there is a strong argument that some of the images have been faked - as others have said this mission could not fail in the height of the cold war - I don't believe all the conspiracies either.

But ask yourself after watching this............

Why did they need to do this?

The video above only shows how some media shots were faked.
Link below proves the whole thing was staged:-

You're all missing the bigger picture :bitchy: :brickwall

It's not the landings that were faked, it's the moon itself :agree:
