Thats the figure the Dow closed down tonight.
Global financial meltdown is now upon us, Footsie heading for 3300.

Of course Gordon Brown had nothing to do with it, even though he was the financial wizz kid behind the Boom success of the previous decade......isnt that right Gordon!!?

Gordon, like Labour at large, are only responsible for the good things happening.

Everything else, either they were mislead or they took the decision for the best reasons.

Much as I fear a Tory government, I cannot wait to see this bunch of fools flushed from the Commons.

PS 6th Nov for the Glenrothes by-election is a stick-on.

Eh?

Gordon Brown has got inluence over the fortunes of the top 30 US businesses and the internayional stock market players who play with billions of other people's money?

Well, I'll be damned.

Even the American president hasn't got that much power.

Quite the reverse, in fact. Those businesses and players have got influence over him.

Gordon's some boy, then.

I thought this was an interesting view on the Labour psyche.

Some juicy morsels therefrom:

"SCOTTISH LABOURITES at their conference in Manchester last week were practically punching the air at the collapse of HBOS. They think the crisis vindicates their Unionism and reveals Alex Salmond as a tartan fantasist living in an economic Brigadoon. Mind you, some Scots might prefer Brigadoon to Labourland."

"But what Labour are really banking on here - if you'll excuse the pun - is not the inadequacy of Nationalist economic policy, but fear. They believe that the international economic turbulence will drive Scots back to the Union for fear of being left out in the cold. Since the Darien disaster, one historically minded Labour figure suggested to me, the Scots have repeatedly been shown that they can't stand on their own. It's all very well harbouring dreams of self-government when everyone is in work and house prices are making people feel rich, but in a recession, as in wartime, the security of the United Kingdom starts to look more attractive."

"Labour's glee at HBOS's plight may also backfire. I don't particularly care whether a bank happens to be Scottish or English. They are there to make money out of money and should be kept tightly regulated to save themselves from the consequences of their own folly. But there are a welter of questions raised by the manner of the HBOS takeover, and the cry of "we wuz robbed" isn't coming from Alex Salmond but from the Edinburgh banking community."

more credibility You think? I'd say Karl Marx had his finger on the pulse, a lot of what he wrote is coming true, the chickens are coming home to roost for Capitalism and the Free Market. :grr:

I didn't say this guy is credible, but this certainly gives him an ounce of credibility. Although, come the end of 2008 and we're still alive he'll look like a right tit

Genuine question, mate. :agree:

Is English your first language ?

Your syntax seems to become a bit convoluted when you get excited.
