Barry George has been found not guilty after a re-trial for the murder of Jill Dando. He spent nine years inside.

Harsh.

The Yam Fud you speak of was on death row and was minutes from death on some occasions thanks to dodgy proceedings in court and a refusal to accept there may have been a mistake made by prosecutors who rub their hands with glee at the thought of an execution.

If that sort of treatment doesn't get to your mind then nothing will, Yam Fud or not.

anybody see that channel 4 documentary on Barry George a few months ago?

made the police enquiry look very dodgy and seemed to suggest strongly that Barry George was innocent.

poor guy!

So whats the script now ? will they be looking for the person who actually shot her ,or just leave it as an unsolved murder.

Seem to remember at the time that the shooting had all the hallmarks of a mob hit......more likely the police knew the kilers but couldnt prove it but the pressure was there to get a conviction.

How many times will this happen before Cheif Supers are brought to book to put a stop to it?

It was a great strike of his for Arsenal against Liverpool in the FA cup final back in the seventies.

Still think Jill Dando was the victim of a Serbian hit, in retaliation for the bombing of the TV Station in Belgrade, when journalists lost their lives. I doubt Barry George was clever enough to pull off such a professional operation.

His darts career suffered while in the tin pale but at least Setanta have started the Legends of Darts to get the guy back on the straight and narrow.

He needs to lose the bling though. :agree:

He was never the same after being brutally raped in the film 'Straw Dogs' but recovered sufficiently to produce many hits, including the prophetic 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?'

For those of us who saw Little Feat last week at the Queen's Hall, the band have never fully recovered from his untimely death in 1979.

His career did take an unfortunate turn, however, when he teamed up with Zippy and Bungle in the supergroup Rainbow.... just as Richie Blackmore left.

I reckon the psychological torture inflicted on said Yam fud can be the only thing that could possibly have prepared him for "freedom" in Dalry, not to mention drinking in one Willie McCallum's establishment.

I went in for the Bingo once, and practically needed the jellies I was carrying, right away.
