Today saw the start of 2nd round action at the Cincinnati Masters, when the big boys begin.
Roger Federer played American Robby Ginepri knowing that if he lost he would probably lose his number one ranking by the end of the week.
It didn't start off well for him. Ginepri took the first set after a shocking tie break from Federer. The second set went to a tie break as well but Federer levelled the match. The deciding set was no contest as Ginepri seemed to crumble as he lost 6-0.
So Roger lives to fight another day and hangs onto his world number one ranking by the skin of his teeth but for how long?
He will now face the giant Croatian Ivo Karlovic in round three.
Tomorrow sees Andy Murray return to the court after his impressive showing at Toronto last week. He plays American Sam Querrey in round two.
3rd seed Novak Djokovic plays Italian Simone Bolelli and the man of the moment Rafael Nadal plays Florent Serra as he hopes to win his sixth consecutive tournament and continue his astonishing run of 29 straight wins.
Murray is 2nd on court and he should be on around 6pm. Djokovic is then on after him and Nadal will play at midnight.
Should be an exciting day's play.
