6 years 3 months and 6 and half years respectivley.

In these days of increasingly unregulated capitalism crime against property or money will always draw harsher sentences than crime against the person.

Agree. Although they have been complete ferkin scuumbags to their children, they're not exactly a danger to the public are they, unlike child abusers who consistently get ridiculously light sentences.

one thing I have learned is that the government deals out stiff punishment to those people who F! with the government. Tax evasion? Don't even think about it. Murder / Sexual abuse - yeah, they're alright.

The Darwins ( plural ) have ( plural ) been jailed . No apostrophe involved .
What I noticed about this case was that a couple with relatively low income ( she only worked part - time I think ) had 13 credit cards . Should there not be more control on credit and other cards ?
