What a complete tool :dizzy:

But he's an American 'war hero' running on the republican ticket against a black guy. He'll get elected no bother, sadly.

Give me enough material and handy editing tools and you could make Martin Luther King or Mother Theresa look terrible -- I have as much faith in McCain as I do in Obama, that is little.

Obama. Landslide. See what happens on Nov 6th.

McCain hasn't a chance in hell.

Don't give a toss who wins the American election. Nothing will change especially with regards to the foreign policy.

The plan for the new American century which is a real document that exists stated that America need a 'Pearl Harbour type incident' so they could re-establish their dominance in the Middle East, Latin America and Central Asia. They got their incident in 2001, wars are now being fought in 2 of those locations, how long until an inasion of Cuba, Venezuela or Bolivia? I'll give it 18 months to 2 years. The USA will always be an agressive nation as it desperately attempts to avoid losing it's dominance to the Russians, Chinese and Indians, this will continue to be the case regardless of who wins the next election.

Perhaps they don't teach history in America, or at least, teach it well enough to learn something from it.

Empire-overstretch saw off (amongst others) the Romans, the Mongols, the Austro-Hungarian, the British, the Soviet Union and it will see off the USA.

The problem is the chaos which will ensue from it. Hopefully by that stage, most of us will be dust and distant memories.

Agreed with that wholeheartedly.

-------------

I don't know if America, Americans and the rest of the world will be better off after the next election but don't expect an immediate change of any great magnitude. But you have to, or should, believe that the American people are as sick of all these wars, conflicts, invasions, etc. as the rest of you are.

I hope there is a change. Everyone needs it!

the explanation is here

the PNAC website seems to have been suspended, have a look at the background of the signatories and contributors (http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/pnac_chart/pnac.html)to the writing of this neocon policy document and see how closely they are allied with bush and his warmongers, also how much a lot them have to gain by the attempt to implement this :agree:

Some interesting reading but I don't see how the activities stemming from the ideas of this group will be unaffected by a change of presidency as you suggested previously?

I was quite a fan of Obama and would have agreed with you until recently, however his speech at the recent AIPAC conference made me think twice, his foreign policy views and views on Palestine and Israel barely differ from the Republicans. As for McCain, an American miltary man will always hold American military views.

Agree re: McCain but if Obama gets in he'll do whatever he can to move in the completely opposite direction than Bush in certain things, although he does seem to be a bit undecided on most aspects of his foreign policy.

The previously mentioned AIPAC speech would suggest otherwise. And I think we'll see him drift even further to the right on social, economic and foreign policy issues as the Presidential race gets going.

Gary Younge hit the nail on the head when saying that an Obama Presidency would symbolise a great deal and change very little.

Dont trust any of the candidates tbh, the only one i was drawn to was Ron Paul. Obama and Mccain are gonna be as corrupt as the previous presidents and after some "bedding in time" , will no doubt continue with what the Bush administration has started.
No regards for anything other than U.S wealth and dominance and will lie and cheat to convince the masses that the fightin in Iraq,Afghanistan, and the operations in somalia are all for the better of the world and "freedom". Not to line Americas pockets.
