I know this has been discussed plenty times before but I am looking to get another tattoo this week.
I went into Bizarre Ink in the Grassmarket and was quoted £200 for a tribal design which I thought was really expensive give the fact that it was totally black and about 6 inches long - is that expensive???

I have a Hibs badge on my right arm which was done in a place near the foot of Easter Road (no longer there now sadly) and I am sure I only paid £60 for it....any recommendations??

Cheers

London prices are roughly £70 p/h but if your there for two or more it gets cheaper, i'd say your quote is expensive

i recently got a piper in a green tartan on my leg from a place in montrose called inks minx and would definatly go back, 200 seems alot for what you said, mine cost i think it was 130 but very detailed.

Most tattooists will charge by the tattoo, not by the hour..

I've been using Rock N Roll tattoos at Abbeyhill.. They're very reasonably priced.. I got a very detailed piece, was in there for over 3 hours and got charged £120.. The guys are Polish, very friendly, and when I was in for my last two pieces, they asked me how much I wanted to pay, rather than quoting me a price..

Highly recommend these guys.. They are just over from The Artisan boozer.. and they are willing to work, they stay open til 8.. :agree:

They are also Hibbies.. They have tattooed Steven Fletcher and Alan O Brien..

i havent heard much good about bizarre ink. seems like many of their artists will not really stick to a brief.

and they are expensive because, y'know, everyone who is anyone gots to go to spacey's, man.

i used to go to sarah street (cannongate) who worked out of tribal. she has now left, sadly but she was excellent.

thinking of using rob vroomen or morag who are at tribal on nicolson street for my next 'un.

As a side thought, anyone into Miami Ink? See that there heading to Love and Hate in the Southside. Dunno when though!

where's the best place for a Hibs badge tattoo?
Anywhere really but best on your chest beside your heart I reckon unless you want to show it off in the Winter. :greengrin
