I am thinking of going this year. Anybody been before, what was it like.

Notting Hill is absolutely brilliant, probably second only to the Rio carnival in global street party terms, though Berlin's love parade might run it close. Do go, everybody should at least once.

Had rather a rep for robbery and dangerous overcrowding some years back, but CCTV, better policing/stewarding have made it safe again.

Great fun and well worth the trip.

It grew out of the nineties rave culture and is just a huge procession of people and sound systems. It was awe-inspiring the two ocassions I attended. I don't know if it's still as big now, but well worth experiencing.

Went about 5 years ago. Was brilliant, great day out. Loads to see, great food as well

Been a few times, would recommend it.
Have to say that during the day I've never seen any trouble, though at night it can get more dangerous. Also considerably less of the anti-social behaviour, pissing in the street etc that you'd get with any event up here.

Enjoyed the carnival when I was there circa 1993. No trouble that I saw although I did feel a total tourist. Plenty ackee and saltfish on the go :thumbsup:
