i caught the last ten minutes of it last night, did anyone watch this last night?

im not a religious person and i accept peoples beliefs in life, but the teachers at this so "camp", made it look more like a cult and as if they where brainwashing the kids.

The link below is roughly where i watched it from, the lady in the first seconds basically made my mind up.

Was indeed very scary. The adults were very aware of the fact that they were trying to nurture radicals and the constant brainwashing of the kids telling then that they're a special gods generation who should be proud to die in the name of Jesus just sent shivers down my back.

Was bordering on child abuse at some points.

i couldn't see any difference between the indoctrination and christian extremity of the youngsters in jesus camp and an islamic maddrassa gone bad.

extreme views, closed minds, illiberal thinking creating walking indoctrinated timebombs for the future.

None what so ever!

At least Pastor Ted has managed to put a shadow on this dubious organisation.

The underlying letsgo to war message was a bit worrying; as was the constant references to Islam and the middle east:-

"I want to see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam...I want to see them radically laying down their lives for the gospel, as they are over in Pakistan and Israel and Palestine"

Also worrying is the notion these fundamentalists have a foothold in US politics & policy :worried:

At least the camp was closed down after public outrage - nice ending :greengrin

The show would have been funny had it not been so serious - it WAS child abuse IMO - abuse of their young minds.
An example of the moronic standpoint of these people is that they decry Harry Potter as an agent of satan who would have been stoned to death in the old testament. Like they've never heard of a work of fiction :doh:

Also, their pathetic notion of clinging to creationism and denying the theory of evolution WOULD be laughable if they weren't corrupting these young minds with it - you could see the poor kids were confused and no wonder having had their heads filled with so much rubbish!

It's true that there was a happy ending (ie the place was closed down) but it represents a worrying trend of Christian fundamentalism in the US which already has found it's way into government - just look at George Bush elected and re-elected partly by pandering to the notions of these morons!
