A couple of questions for those who know about cars.

Firstly, I am missing my spoiler (factory fitted, standard. No big fancy thing) and want to replace it. I dont really want to pay a lot for it, so what would be the cheapest way of going about this?

Secondly, my AC and heaters dont seem to be working properly. When you change the temp on the dial it either doesnt change the actual temp of the air coming out, or it takes an age to take effect. The air is almost always hot when it comes out. And when I turn on the AC, it doesnt seem to make much of a difference.

Im not exactly swimming in cash just now, but any suggestions of how to solve these would be well appreciated :agree:

My advice would be to open the windows when its hot and put on a jumper when its cold :greengrin

I cant give you exact figures but on a similar car, a smallish ford, cost the best part of £400. You might be able to go to a wee garage* and ask if they could pick up a spoiler from a breakers or maybe even ebay. Some will do this but most would leave you to get the part and they would fit it. You could get it delivered directly to the garage.

The secondly could be one of many things and not related to each other.

The heater; could just be a simple case of switches or what connects the switches to the actual heater being broken, quite cheep, or valves that can be quite expensive, mine was £275 to replace.

It could be that (I'm not sure what’s its called in your car but in mine its known as) the heater matrix is knackered, its like a wee radiator that draws the heat from the engine into the car. The matrix might cost around £100 but could be in the bowels of the car so fitting a new one costs lots of labour.

The AC could just need 'recharged'. Kwik Fit (not my first, second or third choice to be responsible for anything to do with my car as they are *****) can do this quite cheaply, £40 - £60 I think, they will (should) check all the seals in the system before doing that, any needing replaced will cost you a few pounds more.

* I sometimes go to C&G garage in West Bowling Green Street. Ask to speak to Craig if you mention Jack with the big BMW after he stops laughing he'll take good care of you. :agree:

Spoiler - Depends if you want genuine seat parts or aftermarket spoiler! Fitting and painting it, do you know a spray painter or even anybody in the motor trade or anyone who does :dunno:

Air Con - Could be a few things, cheapest to try 1st would be a Air con de bug treatment :agree:

Im not too bothered if the spoiler is from SEAT or not. As long as it does the job and looks the part, without falling off again.

Cheers for all the advice folks
