Has anyone got one? I looked at one today and was impressed does the internet on it do all i could do on a laptop. I am moving to Northern Ireland and want to be able to listen to games on the net can you do this on the i phone. Would i just be better off getting a cheap pay as you go mobile and a plug in for the lap top. Any advice gratefully accepted.:dunno:

I've had my iPhone for just over a week now (on it ATM :greengrin) quality piece of kit! I reckon you'll be able to do what you want on it as long as your in a area with sufficient wifi or edge connection :agree:

No you will not be able to listen to the football on the go.
The only form of streaming it will support is Youtube. :agree:

Oh yes I forgot about Iplayer, but the point still stands, the OP will not be able to stream SPL commentary over the iphone.

Yes you can connect anywhere that you have a mobile phone signal, but it costs you....a lot. The iPhone doesn't have 3G capabilities. 3G is mobile phone Broadband speed in lamans terms, 75% of phones have it. The iPhone is dial up internet basically. There is a 3G version coming in the next 6 months or so (rumoured to be coming anyway), an iPhone (ii) lets say.
When you are at home, a coffee shop or internet cafe, anywhere with WIFI, you can connect to the wireless network and browse like you would with a laptop but your not using the internet through the mobile phone network. So it's not costing you an arm and a leg.
