This is the film that was shelved in the UK due to the similarities to the Maddie McCann case. Went to see this last night and to be honest I think it is a bit of an overreaction to not release the film in the UK at all! Yes, the little girl does bear an uncanny resembalance to Maddie, but the story veers off in a direction more like that of the Shannon Matthews story!

Just seems a pity that most in the UK will never see the film as it was really quite good :agree:

Think thats a bit off not to show this film. Never before has a missing kid had so much media coverage, I'm not saying what has happened is ok, but its crazy to see it still getting regular media coverage.

If you don't want to/are offended by, don't go and see the film.

I was speaking to a guy in Boston a few years ago who "stars" in the film (I'd imagine he was an extra but you know what actors are like!) and he said that is was one of the best films he's been in and seen (and considering he's been in Good Will Hunting etc, it's not bad). I was really looking forward to seeing it, but alas things took a turn for the worse - as GlasgaeHibby says, if you don't want to see it, don't go and see it.

Just reserved it now on my lovefilm, no date confirmed for its release yet:brickwall

It was apparently Ben Affleck & Cos decision to postpone indefinately the release date in the UK.

Call me an old cynic, but a bit of notoriety isn't going to do ticket sales any harm is it?

Neither sadly!

But has anyone seen this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnVJZkDuVBM, absolutely fantastic, plus the follow-up response from Jimmy is brilliant too.
