Managed to avoid this but the wife has bought a boxed set so we've been watching them. She loves it, I find it utter nonsense. I couldn't believe when I read somebody describe it as 'deep' and 'philosophical'.
This is Yam TV.

Lost is very good - the first season was brilliant, it went downhill after that, but the new season has picked up.

I think Lost is quality personally. Very addictive and well made. It's certainly not deep and philosophical, just an entertaining show that gets you hooked (or most people). Obviously it's ridiculous and far fetched, but that's what it's all about.

Personally i just can't see the appeal.:dunno:
My problem is it never gives you any answers, only more ******in questions!!!

I used to watch this all the time before Virgin lost sky one got right into it, it just got more and more confusing I think the whole idea of the show was to get the viewers lost.
Is it still as confusing?

I find the popularity of shows like Lost, Heroes, Skins and so on completely baffling.
Good looking actors in shows written by Hollywood writers trying to be wacky and creative and, IMO, failing miserably.
There are some cracking continuing dramas out there, The Sopranos, The Wire and Battlestar Gallactica to name but a few yet there popularity is far less than that of the nonsense in these other shows.

But they're totally different concepts. Heroes is about superheroes, made in a comic book style, which you have to suspend your belief to watch. How you can compare that to gritty, violent and very adult themed crime shows like The Wire or The Sopranos is beyond me.
It's like comparing Goodfellas to Spiderman. What's the point?

What happened with the current series it stopped abruptly due to the writers strike some weeks ago when does it restart - I see the Sky magazine talks about the finale being on 4th May - when did it restart ? Confused... Missed the first episode of Heroes and all well out of things at the moment...

It restarts on SKY next Sunday, 4th May.
Lost is something you either love or hate, like Marmite, or Thierry Gathuessi.

Do you think the scriptwriters have a general idea of what this supposed to be about or do they just make up this guff as they go along?

They have to have a general outline, there's no doubt about it but alot of the sub-storylines are definitely thought up and just thrown in.

Nah, they haven;t a clue and just make it up from episode to episode :agree:
Does anyone else remember a kids TV show from a few years back, sure it was hosted by Sylvester McCoy where basically you phoned up at the end of the episode and the viewers decided what would happen next, well thats more in line with how Lost is put together...
