Nigeria is actually quite nice in October usually, certainly not dead either. Give Lagos a try.

Went to Orlando in October few years ago. Weather was great and there were no queues in the theme parks.
Went on my first cruise in January this year to the Caribbean. Would highly recommend a cruise. We went with Royal Caribbean. Ship and service was fab and onboard prices very reasonable.
Will defo do it again.

I too went on my first cruise in December, like jae above with Royal Carribean.
I had always been very sceptical about cruises for a number of reasons, however I had a great time and would recommend this type of holiday to anyone.
