Almost certain to be a protest because of China's occupation and barbaric treatment of the people of Tibet.

Good and so it should. people need to wake up to china, there is a man who wrote a letter asking for human rights instead of the olympics and hes now in jail for five years for that. Great stuff! Im sure thats just the tip of the iceberg!

Giving the Olympics to China was one of the biggest (cons) mistakes the incorruptible Olympic Committee has ever made in its puff.

If it ever thought the people of the world would be as blind as it was to what's been happening in China and that the people who are being terrorised in/by China wouldn’t use it for publicity, including giving up their own lives, they’re more stupid than the yams.

As daft as giving the World Cup to South Africa – and that’s not going to happen.

I see the French have forced the gendarmes to put the thing on a bus - and the flame's been put out.

I can't think of anything more appropriate than the symbol of "Olympic ideals" (whatever they are - drugs for all and loadsamoney for the bigwigs?) being violently defended by police in riot gear and Chinese government thugs in tracksuits from the legitimate protests of Tibetan exiles and human-rights activists.

"Friendship among nations" - aye, right. Tell that to Adolf's ghost, down in the Ninth Circle along with Mao and Brezhnev and Reagan and all the others.

Gordon Brown must be crapping himself for the 2012 Olympics, wonder how many protestors will be out on the streets in different countries, protesting about the illegal war in Iraq, and the "human rights" of Iraqis?

I would happily see the Olympics scrapped all together. The 'Olympic Spirit' died years ago.
