Does anyone currently drive one of these type of car? With yesterdays budget and rising fuel prices I am currently mulling over leasing one of these cars as they seem to be quite economical. I hand my car back in September I see VW are working on a Hybrid version of their Golf which could, at best, get 84 mpg. Honda and Toyota have models out there too and Peugeot are working on one as well.

Would be keen to find out folks views on them.

Are you agreeing on hybrid cars, or did you just get married?

I'm not sure but I don't think hybrids get anywhere close to the advertised mpg rates.

Maybe Hiber-nation can elaborate...

Sorry, although I do have a hybrid (3 year old Yaris) I'm not really into cars, I was amusing myself by resurrecting the oldest thread I could find :greengrin

I did think it would be a wee bit more economical than it is but haven't given much thought to it.

Got a Tucson(21) Hybrid and it's usually between 41-44 mpg. I spend a fair bit of time on the bypass and M8 so I imagine I could be more efficient.

Still can't find anything reasonable that can pull 2000kg.

Happy continuing filling up at the garage rather than having to find a cable to attach to my vehicle and constantly watch the battery level.

Not for me. Never.

No they don’t but my hybrid SUV is slightly better than the old diesel VW Golf it replaced.

I’d go EV if there was somewhere to plug it in.

Sent from my LG-H870 using TapatalkThe cable is attached to my house - not that hard to find

I don't have to watch the battery level anymore than my petrol motor as its plugged in and full for me waking up nigh on every day

I find it weird the way folk just dismiss electric cars as 'too difficult'

I don't think many folk get one then go back to ICE vehicles, that tells you everything you need to know really

There's a huge difference from people that can charge at there house at night and this week can't. On street charging on every street will be the game changer, especially in cities like Edinburgh
